1. has anyone seen the beautiful art direction on the new dixie chicks
album? (i looked at it no because i'm a fan of the chicks, but because i
greatly respect the producing work of lloyd maines.) anyway, the
photography, design and direction are really nice.

2. Anyone here in the list know author/speaker/pastor Brian McLaren or were
at the 'out of the christian ghetto' seminars from mars hill review? if so,
please write me offline. thanks.

3. I won a free coffee today!!! After ordering my quad venti white mocha
this morning on the way into the studios, (i was about halfway through the
line of about a dozen bleary-eyed middle-and upper-middle-class san
antonians) the perky barrista announced in a loud voice that today was their
unofficial customer appreciation day and that whomever could tell her "who
or what starbucks was named after" would get their drink for free. I got it!

4. nice OTR writeup in the first edition of PASTE magazine. that's probably
already been covered, but i got my first copy a little late.

5. the otr site doesn't take AMEX.
otherwise, i'd have ordered the new CD. :-/

...the first mate and his ishmael too, will do their very best....
