region-free is the way to be

i do it because i'm a cartoon junkie... there are
some Region 2 Simpsons Collections (Backstage Pass
and Film Festival), the Family Guy Season 1, and 
Futurama Season 1... all that have no forseen plans
of being released in the U.S. anytime soon... i think
Futurama cannot be released in the U.S. until 2004,
due to syndication contracts, or something.

another key point about the lovely Apex 1500 is that
it plays mp3's and VCDs... something my RCA didn't.

and now that i convinced my boss that we needed a
USB video capture piece of hardware, i'm converting
all of my music-related VHS to CD... my Steve Taylor
vids will be preserved... :)

i like Amazon-UK, because they *always* seem to 
screw up the pounds to US dollars on every order...
in my favor/favour.  the price that carries to the
checkout cart is always lower than the price that's
on the item screen.  i've order 5 times from Amazon-
UK, and it's happened every time.  Bruce Lachey had
this same delightful experience.
