Re: We're number three! We're number three!!!

Hi, list!

I spent last weekend in Kent, Ohio...and lived to tell the tale.
Thought you might enjoy hearing about it. (Incidentally, you may
be hearing more from me in the near future, since I have just
tonight discovered that my laptop, once thought to be extinct,
actually works again--and that I have dial-up Internet from the
comfort of my home!)

The Binkmeister/Pop Monet show at Brady's this Saturday past
was, indeed, a wonderful thing to see. Our beloved Rick played
a fantastic opening hour of all-accoustic originals spiced with a
few surprises. For those who were at the September show (Hi, Jess!),
Fat Albert made an appearance this time too. /grins/ I agree,
Bink, you /do/ get better every time you play there. (Must be the
company...) Pop Monet took the stage a bit after nine and captivated
the audience until well after 11 (well, they captivated me, anyway,
and that's saying quite a lot!). I'm not quite sure who wins the
'best-dressed' award for the evening, though--it's a close call between
Bink's snappy Waistcoat With Buttons and Jeff K's dapper vest combo.

Oh, and Ysoie dear, Bonnie really did search for two hours to find
strawberries. They were heavenly. Where were you?

After the gig, of course, was the by now obligatory stop by the
Cornerstone for drinks and lovely conversation. Oh--and on the ride
over, I got to hear Bink's contribution to the forthcoming tribute
album. This is gonna blow your socks right off, kids, and that's all
I'm sayin'.

Here begin the random hugs and thank-yous (and apologies):

Jamie--thank you for everything last weekend. Sorry things were so
confusing at times. We'll talk.

D.M.--Sorry I didn't call you Sunday; I was up later than I expected to
be on Sunday and had to rush off after breakfast. Give me a call when
you have time.

Bink--Thanks for finding time to spend with me... sorry that it had to
be at horribly odd hours of the morning. Perhaps next time our schedules
will be a bit more amenable to conversation.

jg (and db!)--It was absolutely lovely to see you again!!! I hope that
your friends-who-you-didn't-know enjoyed the show. Did you get my
e-mail addy?

Jeff K.--do you still exist on the list? Anyway, sorry we didn't join
you for dancing. Perhaps next time I'm in town I can make up for it
somehow...

Goodnight, list.
Raven
