Re: Star Wars... It's not the hype

I remember when Star Wars came out, my parents loaded my little brother and
I into my mom's 1974 red ford bronco, and we set off for the Drive in movie
theater. I was 5 and he was 3, I wore pink pjs and David wore yellow pjs in
case we fell asleep, he was so cute when he was that age. I remember it was
hot out We brought popcorn and drinks from home, I craved ice cream that I
saw other kids carrying around. But back to the film, I never thought it was
real. I don't understand why any child would think it is real, typically
kids are very grounded in reality, this is according to one of my education
professors. I saw all the violence that is in the movie and the fantastical
characters and knew it is not nor ever could be real. Maybe I was too jaded
as a young child and never belived in any type of fantasy, however I kept my
invisible cousin Roger in the refrigerator of my play kitchen. What I think
it is because I knew the difference between reality and fantasy. When I saw
Darth Vader kill Obi One Kanobie I knew he really was not killing that
person but the character that person played. The same went for all the other
films and TV shows I saw. I knew that it was for entertainment and not
reality. I think most kids should realize that although I am not sure why
many do not. Well I have gone on long enough.
