I'm NOT trying to start a heated debate here.  PLEASE don't anyone blow this
out of proportion, please, please, please.  I am not trying to offend or
attack anyone, ok?

What I wanted to say is, yes, Mike, we got a little out of line with the
weirdo stuff.  I admit it.  There have been many conversations on this list
that get like that.  I think that what I (and some others) are bothered by is
that the discussion has gone on for like 80 years and gotten a little absurd
(ie comments like "f- yourself," and long, boring accounts of historical
events)  I am happy that so many of you know so much about world history and
it is interesting, but it does get kind of boring after a while.  Yes, I know
that I can delete the messages, and most of them I did after a while.  It was
really the personal attacks that made the thread unbearable for me.

Also, as far as our infamous "weirdo" discussion goes, we did end it when
people started complaining.  There have been many complaints about these
Kosovo threads, yet it continues.  

please don't attack this because I REALLY want everyone to be calm and happy
