Re: Alanis bashing.
we heard from petersen at info2000_net...
Yeah, that does suck. I personally think it's nice when a band I love
hits
it big. Provided said fame doesn't change them or make them change what
they're doing just for continued fame.
Well yeah! I mean, I think it would be wonderful if more people loved
the album "10 Cent Wings" by Jonatha Brooke as much as I do, and a lot
of those songs had real radio potential, but it just didn't happen. And
Burlap to Cashmere probably won't hit the mainstream really big either
because that whole fascination with jam-bands is kind of dying out in
the mainstream.
But, then again, none of the artists
you listed did that.
I agree. I was just listing off the top of my head. :)
when radio gloms onto a certain song by an artist
and absolutely beats it into the ground. Especially when it's not the
best
song on the CD
I HATE THAT!!! They do that all the time! That's actually what ruined
Alanis for me...seems all the songs that I liked on the album were the
ones not released as singles, and all the songs I wasn't too fond of were
everywhere!
***and then on a different tangent***
Why, what's the style of your current producer?
Well...one song sounds like folky Madonna (don't ask), another sounds
like Sheryl Crow covering "Building A Mystery", and the other is Jars of
Clay meets Natalie Imbruglia (shudder) by way of Fleetwood Mac. Make any
sense? In other words, way too glossy for me. :)
