Sorry to clog mailboxes with this.  If ya have your e-mail filter to 
discard any incoming with a "@", you won't ever see this kind of 
e-mail!!

Anyway, I re-read your post again Markster, and agree totally with the 
last section.  I'll post the lyric that I love from Madonna's thing and 
do a quick Lyric 101 analysis:

I traded fame for love
Without a second thought
It all became a silly game
Some things cannot be bought
Got exactly what I asked for
Wanted it so badly
Running, rushing back for more
I suffered fools
So gladly
And now -- I find
I've changed my mind


Basically I think she realised her last few albums didn't sell well, but 
she's a servant to fame.  Fame is her "substitute for love".  Big deal.
