OtR in Winnipeg...yes that's in Canada
Well...I have moved from Calgary to Winnipeg just in time for the
OtR/Junkies concert on August 31st (for those of you who know anything
about Canada and it's geography, you may be wondering why on earth I
would make such a move...it was all for a job and a few friends...I
still think I'm crazy for doing it). Because I have come across so few
Canadians (Nevermind Manitobans) on this list, I'm assuming I'll be the
only listie there, however, if I'm wrong, it's a pretty small club so
just wave your hand or do something stupid so I know who you are.
To follow up Jan's comments about OtR posters and artwork, I have to say
that the posters I've seen around Winnipeg are far from appealing. Now,
I'm not sure if the posters were locally produced or if they were
actually what the Junkies are using for promotional material, but, all
of those that I've seen (which is quite a few) have been printed on a
pale yellow 8&1/2 x 11 piece of paper, and don't look like much effort
has been put into them. There is no mention of OtR but a scanned B&W
picture of the Junkies sits in the centre with the details on the
bottom.
It would've been impressive to see something a little more dynamic.
Perhaps I've just missed all of the good ones or else they're hiding in
the club somewhere.
I'm looking forward to this concert like you wouldn't believe. I've
been a committed fan ever since Patience and this will be the first time
I've seen them live. It's nice to see them in Canada...I think we'll
receive them well...I certainly will.
