RE: passion

My official view on The Passion is that it didn't "bring it home" for me. 

I didn't need to see a movie about Christ's suffering in order to make it real, more understandable. The Bible does a good work of making me understand that it was by Jesus' stripes that I'm healed.

I jumped in my seat three times. Cried a couple of times.

I thought parts of it had bad acting -- too melodramatic. A couple issues with editing... 

I did give it 8 thumbs-up out of 10. Pretty good.

A good film -- but I do think Christians (especially!) need to go into it understanding that it is simply a movie, and that God's teardrop from heaven did not make an earthquake happen when it hit the ground. 

(I probably know folks who went home and checked it out, afterwards.)

so....i'm surprised this hasn't come up on the list, yet.  i'm wondering 
who's seen 'the passion,' and whether or not you'd recommend it to someone 
(me) who's a) Christian, and b) dislikes watching realistic violence on 
screen.

so far i've been told everything from 'it's not worth it, especially 
considering it's only blood and gore,' to 'of course you should see it, 
every believer should see what Christ suffered for them.'  thanks for that 
one, mom.  for crying out loud i never made it through 'schindler's list.'

opinions?  and can we discuss without arguing?
