i have to say that i was spoiled by being raised in
the shennandoah valley of virginia as a kid and in the
chessapeake of maryland during more formadable years
before moving to the midwest. there's just something
about driving through the winding skyline drive on the
blue ridge mountains during peak autumn or spring
which never leaves the bloodstream.

i'd love to see new england someday, too. i was born
in a suburb of boston, but the family moved when i was
still an infant, so i don't recall much of anything
outside my crib.

just give me anywhere with rolling hills or mountains,
endless miles of beautiful countryside, and a short
hop, skip, or jump to a nearby metropolis. is that too
much to ask?

...and i've never been to boston in the fall.
