Goofy Music Videos (no oTr)

"(Will You) Be The One"- Al Denson

All that I can recall of this one is that it creates a little world
populated by high school kids, most of whom seem to be engaged in
pointing guns at their own heads, or drinking Liquid Plumber, or other
such self-defeating behaviour, while a "teamo supremo" goes around
talking them down from life's little ledge.

"All Over Me" - The Benjamin Gate

The deadly chrome sphere from the Phantasm film series seems to fly
around the world, while not hovering over TBG's lead singer, who appears
to be trying several possible ways to getting on Mister Blackwell's 2001
Worst Dressed list.

"(Hold Me, Thrill Me) Kiss Me, Kill Me"-U2

Mixing U2's Bono's silly post-1990 (the real NO Depression acts)
personnas with the Batvillain TwoFace, right after the Twin Peaks
franchise apparently ran out of funding, MTV, in between showing Singled
Out, and Beavis And Butthead, was forced to show a brief commercial for
_The Screwtape Letters_ by C.S. Lewis.

"I Can't Drive 55" - Sammy Hagar

The full version of this one has a great intro on a track, with Hagar's
mechanic describing the magic he worked with a big Ferrari 512
Berlinetta Boxer, which Hagar proceeds to drive, on the highway, in a
manner befitting a character from Al Denson's "Be The One?" The rest of
the video is very awful 80's camp humour.

"Lonely Ol' Night"- John Cougar Mellencamp

One of the first, best uses of big budget film technique to lay
(thickly) down a mood ("but, aint they all?")

"Devil Inside" INXS

A stylized vision of the urban underbelly, the last hurrah of that
(Reagan era) theme, before it was shattered by the Guns'N'Roses (Bush
era) wave of "declining empire's crumbling cities" imagery.

"We Can Make It Work" - Vince Ebo

Given the fact that he borrowed a shotgun, and "showed Kurt Cobain how
it's done" a few months earlier, maybe we can assume that this very
energetic, hopeful, soulful video, which is quite good, was less than
truthful as a personal statement.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
"Do you believe in God?........Well, go be with Him" -Columbine High
School (Klebold or Harris?) shooter to Rachel Scott (the last words she
heard).

"I have no _PATIENCE_." -Howard Stern
