Thrill Jockey, anyone?

Does anyone else here listen to any bands on the Thrill Jockey label? About
six months ago a pal introduced me to Tortoise and Trans Am and I really dig
them. So since then I've gotten into like 8 of the label's bands. They're
alternative (whatever that means) and melodic.. So for their 10th
anniversary as an indie label, they're putting on a series of shows in NYC
and London in early Sept and having most of their artists perform over a few
days.. I'm going to the NYC ones.

Here's a roster of their artists:

8 Bold Souls, A Minor Forest, All Natural, Bobby Conn, Brokeback, Chicago
Underground, Andrew Coleman, Directions, Dolomite, Eleventh Dream Day,
Freakwater, Fred Anderson and Robert Barry, Sue Garner & Rick Brown, Gaunt,
Giant Sand, Gorilla, H.P. Zinker, Howe Gelb, Catherine Irwin, Isotope 217,
Lonesome Organist, Microstoria, Mouse On Mars, The National Trust, Nerves,
Nobukazu Takemura, Oval, John Parish, Sam Prekop, Archer Prewitt, Pullman,
Radian, Rick Rizzo and Tara Key, Rome, The Sea and Cake, Sugarshock,
Tortoise, Town and Country, Trans Am, V-3

Anyone else heard much about any of them?

Thrill Jockey's site is at www.thrilljockey.com

i thought i was growing old but i was just growing tired and worn,
B
