Is there a distinction between people of the Jewish faith and those with a
Jewish ethnic background?  In Biblical times, those were one and the
same...akin to saying "that French person speaks French."  Now, in the
melting pot of the US of A, you'd be just as likely to say "that German
speaks Spanish."

BTW, FWIW, IMHO, AFAIK, yes.  OTOH, AAMOF, maybe not.  YMMV.
