I've only ever been to Boston once, for a weekend, and felt right at home: it
did, actually, remind me a great deal of Philadelphia. (I lived in
Philadelphia for 3 years, in the early 90's.) I think perhaps because the
cities are of similar size and history, perhaps they developed in similar
ways? (There's something I'll have to add to my 'investigate later' list.)

Did you by any chance make it to the Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum? If I
lived in Boston (which I wouldn't.. much too cold) I would spend a great deal
of time there. I was enthralled. Boston also has a nifty science museum (a
DaVinci exhibition there (art, inventions, scientific advances...
fascinating!) was half the reason I ventured to Boston in the first place.)

Ahhhh. Congrats, and good luck! I love to travel, myself. If I did not
have the responsibilities I do, I would attempt to find a way to make a
living constantly traveling. Even WITH the responsibilities I have, I think
I could live anywhere... I'd just have to be sure to still be able to travel
often.

Ah. I see. It's nice to have my curiousity assuaged. Thank you. :)

Ben will be eleven on the fifth of January. Somehow. Makes me feel ancient,
it does.
Not so much of a 'little guy' anymore.  We can wear the same rollerblades;
our feet are the same size.

The combination of New Years and his birthday (which is so much more of a
marking of time for me than my own) always makes me contemplative. Life used
to seem so wide yet short; there was so much to be stuffed into such a teeny
time... and now it has changed shape completely: it seems from my current
perspective to be a far longer gift than I'd expected, but, inevitably, more
narrow of possiblity. This is, all in all, a happy thing, in case it sounds
otherwise.

Do you suppose that when my perspective tells me that life is infinite, with
only one option, that I'm finished here? I can only *hope* that is how it
goes, maybe, yes?

Quite enough out of me, too, I think.
