Re: sigur ros

Yeah, Sigur Ros is pretty much a must-have disc.  Even if you don't initially like it, it will grow on you.  They sing in a mixture of Icelandic (is that really what it's called?) and a language that they made up.  The guitarist is pretty cool, though; sometimes he plays his electric guitar with a viola bow.  very cool.

So I'm flipping channels last night and come across
Reverb on HBO.  Usually there's some sort of hardcore
band but last night they featured Bjork and Sigur Ros.
When I landed, Sigur Ros was playing.  Having heard
about them right here on this very list and being
intrigued, I listened.  And I'm glad I did.  It was
beautiful and intriguing and interesting and...very
falsetto...and then it was over.  I got there in time
to hear the last song.
So tonight I went out and purchased for my little ol
self a Sigur Ros cd.  The black one.  I won't attempt
to recall the obviously Icelandic title.  I listened
to a bit in the car - through very bad speakers - and
am still intrigued.  I hope I'll continue to dig it.
