Gene Eugene died in his sleep on March 20, 2000. The last official gig for
the band was the Cornerstone 2000 memorial set in which they backed other
performers singing Gene's songs. Included were Riki Michelle (who has a new
cd available), Michael Roe of the 77's, Sim Wilson from Undercover, Derrie
Daugherty and Steve Hindalong of the Choir, Mike Knott, and Karin B
graciously adding her voice to BGV's. It was a very beautiful and sobering
night.

There was a benefit concert held in Cali last year to try to pay some of
Gene's funeral cost. That disc is avail from <www.northernrecords.com>.

Last week, his side band, The Lost Dogs <www.thelostdogs.org>, released their
first cd without him.
Gene is painfully missed.
