Finally? Been there a while, havent they?

Yeah, but there are a few other bright spots:

5. Female Pop Vocal Performance: ``Both Sides Now,''
Joni Mitchell

(OtR connection: Karin is a confirmed Joni Mitchell
fan.)

6. Male Pop Vocal Performance: ``She Walks This Earth
(Soberana Rosa),'' Sting.

9. Pop Instrumental Performance: ``Zona Mona,'' Bela
Fleck and The Flecktones;

13. Traditional Pop Vocal Album: ``Both Sides Now,''
Joni Mitchell;

36. Country Instrumental Performance: ``Leaving
Cottondale,'' Alison Brown with Bela Fleck; ``Ode to a
Butterfly,'' Nickel Creek; ``The Second Mouse,'' Tim
O'Brien and Darrell Scott;

Nickel Creek is a breathtakingly phenomenal band. If
you haven't heard them, you're missing a large measure
of the world's available beauty.

39. Bluegrass Album: ``Fair Weather,'' Alison Brown;
``Murder on Music Row,'' Larry Cordle and Lonesome
Standard Time; ``Nickel Creek,'' Nickel Creek; ``The
Grass Is Blue,'' Dolly Parton; ``Big Mon - The Songs
of Bill Monroe,'' Ricky Skaggs and friends.

41. Contemporary Jazz Album: ``Outbound,'' Bela Fleck
and The Flecktones;

42. Jazz Vocal Album: ``In the Moment - Live in
Concert,'' Dianne Reeves.

49. Southern, Country or Bluegrass Gospel Album:
``Just Over in Heaven,'' Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver;
``Soldier of the Cross,'' Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky
Thunder;

60. Traditional Blues Album: ``Superharps,'' James
Cotton, Billy Branch, Charlie Musselwhite and Sugar
Ray Norcia; ``Riding with the King,'' B.B. King and
Eric Clapton; ``Let the Good Times Roll,'' B.B. King;
``Delta Crossroads,'' Robert Lockwood Jr.; ``Milk Cow
Blues,'' Willie Nelson.

61. Contemporary Blues Album: ``Wicked,'' Shemekia
Copeland; ``Shoutin' in Key,'' Taj Mahal and the
Phantom Blues Band; ``Shake Hands With Shorty,'' North
Mississippi Allstars; ``Hoochie Man,'' Bobby Rush;
``Royal Blue,'' Koko Taylor.

62. Traditional Folk Album: ``Public Domain - Songs
From the Wild Land,'' Dave Alvin; ``Far Away, Down on
a Georgia Farm,'' Norman Blake; ``Live at the Royal
Albert Hall,'' Ladysmith Black Mambazo; ``My Roots Are
Showing,'' Natalie MacMaster; ``Cajun Blood,'' Jo-El
Sonnier.

63. Contemporary Folk Album: ``Mermaid Avenue Vol.
II,'' Billy Bragg and Wilco; ``American III: Solitary
Man,'' Johnny Cash; ``Transcendental Blues,'' Steve
Earle; ``Red Dirt Girl,'' Emmylou Harris; ``Crossing
Muddy Waters,'' John Hiatt.

68. Musical Album for Children: ``Woody's Roundup
Featuring Riders in the Sky,'' Riders in the Sky.

74. Score Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture,
Television or other Visual Media: ``American Beauty,''
composer Thomas Newman; ``Magnolia,'' composer Jon
Brion;

I agree the attention goes to the crap but that's
because people like their crap. It's not just that
Christina Spears sucks, it's that mainstream pop
sucks. And it always has, because the mainstream
commercial mass market is made up of most people, and
most people just don't know any better. That's why
OtR is an underground band.

I think I'll just wish I could be at the ceremony held
previously- that's where all the real music is.
