 I'd have to say the first were before I was 10. (I'm pushing 40) They were 
The Beatles and the--uhm--Monkees mainly. In my teens it was Todd Rundgren, 
Strawbs, Gentle Giant, Frank Zappa, and -- The Beatles among MANY others but 
those were  biggies. 
    I had and have a sort of split personality in my taste. I go from 
singer-songwriter to  R& R to progressive to JPW (just plain weird) to heavy 
metal to jazz to blues around and around and around.
 
ps--is it normal for the *reply to* at top of the letter to be the sender and 
not *Over-the-Rhine at actwin_com?*
