Re: Music--VOL Summershine

Well I've experienced both what Ryan and Mark are talking about. At times
I've been moved to tears by music and I've been reassured by a message in
it. . .But I've used music as a coping device as well. I've shared with you
some of my church history. I had a feeling of shame that I attended my old
church and that I'd been such a zealous conservative Christian. How could I
be so insensitive to others, so sure the world was black and white, so
opinionated, etc. etc.

OK I'm going to jump on my U2 bandwagon again, because their music truly was
therapy for me in coming to terms with this. They had been through a similar
journey going from fundamentalist Christianity to cynicism and back to
belief (although not having all the answers, still belief). That's pretty
much where I've been. The song "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"
still makes me cry because it captures all my feelings about this. It makes
me feel better to know someone else has been through it, just like ryan
said.
