i don't have names in mind, i have a hard time remembering them.
(:
but i do like uses of color, i enjoy mexican surrealism (is that a type).
i like photography, esp black adn white, although the use of reds and
blues always gets my attention.
starry night, guitar man in blue.
there's these two paintings dad brought back from spain when i was
little...
one is round and done on goldleaf. it's an outline in black of a spanish
galleon - sails furled, the waves splashing. i used to stare for hours at
it. after a while, i felt like i could hear the waves, taste the wind. i
wanted to sail on that ship so badly. find new lands, see new things.
there's another painting too - it's a simpler scene, a road begins at the
forfront, and winds its way back into nowhere. trees line the road, and a
little fence. there's a church part way back. this one was more peaceful
to stare at, and i would do it when i was supposed to be napping. i'd
pretend i was walking down the road. and the dust was between my toes. i
could smell something cooking, stuff growing. and far away you can hear
the people talking and working. lazy hot summer days in southern spain.
nothing like 'em
so yea, i guess i like visual art - the kind that lets me go somewhere.
