Which reminds me of another "funny name" story: there's a street in San
Antonio named after a Spanish patronym -- "De Zavala" -- for years my
grandmother thought it was spelled "Days of Allah".

Colorado still claims Del Norte and Buena Vista which they pronounce
incorrectly [dell-NORT] and [byoon-uh-VEES-tuh], and Atlanta (if i'm
remembering correctly) has Ponce de Leon street, which they pronounce as
[pohnss-day-LEE-ohn]. Eeek.

As opposed to King of Ultramarine? uh, nevermind. it's late.
