Thanks for that.  As you see, I asked a serious question, and you answered 
it- what a relief!

Your list below indicates the sheer volume of mail this subject generated.  
For my part, I didn't have time to read it all, but has dismayed that the 
ones I did read, which were from known Christians, did not mention the 
Bible.  I guess what I was getting at, which was all I knew for certain, was 
that the Bible should have been in every Christian's reply, no matter how 
passe or trite or obvious an answer it appeared to be, and it wasn't.  
(After all, the gospel is not something to be ashamed of.)  I am glad to see 
how often it was actually listed, however, even if you did include me in the 
statistics.

Perhaps people thought that, by simply answering with "Bible", they were 
missing a chance to share something of themselves.  (Which is unfortunate.)  
  Perhaps they just didn't want to be bothered with typing "Aside from the 
Bible, my most infuencial book is..."  Maybe they figured that, as known 
Christians, it was assumed.  Could be.  I wonder.

Most of the other books listed are excellent choices, and have undeniable 
merit.
