This was harder for me too.  My original thought was "If These Walls Could Talk," the HBO original about abortion because that was a very influential film for me...  But I imagined the comments that would be made and the potential debate over the issue that could happen, and I decided to choose another one!  I could think of many movies that I liked or that moved me but none (even ITWCT) that had the same kind of effect on me that CDs or books have.  I thought about The Princess Bride.  What a great film.  But not particularly influential.  That got me to thinking about Christopher Guest.  And then I thought of Guffman.  And I love that movie.  So even if I can't specifically say why it's influential, I decided to list it.  If nothing else, it's a forum for me to shout "Buy the DVD!  Watch the deleted scenes.  Think of me laughing out loud *every time* I watch the "Corky and the sperm whale" one."
