hmmm.  with the most influential movie my original
thought was, don't laugh, 'goonies'.  there have been
deeper flicks to which i have related or from which i
have pulled something, but in trying to figure out why
this was the film that instantly popped into my head,
it occurred me it i was 7 or 8 years old when i saw it
and it was the first film to instill a sense of wonder
and desperate wishing.
