So Terri secretly wants to be a short, curvy brunette? Is that what you're
trying to say, Dearest? And I'm trying to figure out how to process that
comment. Is it, "And you thought TERI was reserved," thus implying the
incarnation that appears as said chanteuse at Gatherings is a shy wallflower,
or "And you thought Teri was RESERVED!" thus implying the Ysoie everyone's
seen at Gatherings is a wild and crazy party dominatrix.
Even more exciting: Teri's secretly a Goth!
And about all this A-list nonsense: you're on the A-list if you put yourself
on the A-list. If you post often enough and people get to recognise your
name, that's about all you need. And yes, it does take a while. It's the same
on every form of online communication I know: message boards, chats, mailing
lists, the whole nine yards. I wasn't crowned queen when I first showed up
here, but now it's, what, four years later? Now I know people here online and
off, and respect them as individuals. People know me by name and, I have to
admit, the corset has also been a useful mnemonic device. As well as a great
visual aid to the Vogel Mojo.
It's the same as any social situation: we talk to the people we know more
readily than to those we don't, and we tend to pick up on and discuss things
that interest us and leave the rest alone.
If you don't think people are talking to you, maybe you should talk to them
more often. You have to start somewhere.
