The Day the World Went Away. (was Re: Cree Summer)

Daniel was listening to:

> NP: NIN - The Day the World Went Away

i bought that last week and was honestly quite
disappointed upon first listen...

then i listened to those three songs again... again...

and again...

the third being a (quiet) remix of the first.

i think it was during the fifth listen that i rolled
my window down all the way (it was twilight,
and i'd just finished a double chai) and thought:
yes, Trent really -has- gone and done it again!
i started laughing.
admittedly, it isn't *quite* exactly what i was
hoping for, but then again neither was the
Downward Spiral... and it became one of my favorites.

i've spoiled myself so much on his remix cd's
with all their unabashed pushing into the realms
of chaos that i'd nearly forgotten how to listen
to something of his that not quite as...
<insert appropriate word here>
(painful? tormented? excruciating?)

beyond that,
Startruckers, Inc. sounded a LOT like Ministry to me.

which is... (ya a awn) ok.
but then when he breaks into You're So Vain...

you'd think it's be silly, you'd think it'd be corny,
but yes, Trent Reznor can even kick butt all over
the place while singing that!

good purchase, Dan. you go.

good night and have a pleasant weekend,

edward
