The sound of soul comes from the back alleys of the heart. It has
nothing to do with the instrument. I've heard old blues men make crappy
little plywood electrics cry like angels while young wipper-snapper
wannabes sound like shit on the most expensive gear.

That little green box would be a vintage Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer.
Used by SRV and quite a sought after unit. (The reissues are seldom the
same.)
