Re: This Header is dumb (was Re: This is dumb)

Earlier, we had "nkorobov" posting what I would call a jealous,
seething, and downright uncalled for letter in response to Linford's
earnest request for feedback from a core group of fans.

I have no idea where this nkorobov person came from.  As far as I know
this has been his/her first and only post to the list.  So much for good
first impressions!  

Then another newbie shows up, "krystyn wells," amid a flurry of
retaliated flames and defends him.  Now as much as I don't agree with
fire against fire battles, and as much as I respect the freedom of
speech, I have to say that this just pisses me off.   I mean who asked
for rudeness anyway?  As far as I can tell, we have Linford, who's
posted to the list how many times since it's inception?  --3?  5?  And
how many of those times has he asked us for input in the direction of
the band? As far as I can remember, zilch.  So anyway, here comes this
person ,nkorobov, out of the blue and gives a voice of contempt to our
list just when band members are reading these pages.  I really must go
out on a limb here and say that this person had no right to speak so
vulgarly, so contemptuously in the face of otherwise open sincerity. 
This to me is nothing more than bad manners.  Do you not mind what you
say in the company of those you respect?  That's the way I was brought
up at least.  So, I can think of nothing more discourteous than to
directly insult the very person who pays the hosting fees to this
listserv during a time when he opens himself up to us for input.  Is it
just me, or does this hit anybody else this way too?  

Honestly, I'm incensed that someone who never posts can come out of the
blue, make an ass out of themselves while embarrassing the rest of us in
the process, and elicit from another lurker a defense of their actions. 
And as far as believing in the right to free speech of those we don't
agree with--well, does this really apply to some malicious imprecations
spoken out of turn?  Come on.  Why must we accept malice under the guise
of open-mindedness??

And to nkorobov, whomever  you are, thank you so much for taking your
frustrations out on us.  You couldn't have timed it any better if you
had tried.
