just as a side note, the phrase "ben son ben son beatrice" is form
Dante's Divine Comedy, from the Purgatory. in english, the stanza goes
something like:

"look on us well; *we are indeed, we are
Beatrice.* how hast thou deigned to climb the hill?
dids't thou not know that man is happy here?"

                         purgatory, canto 30,lines 73-5

beatrice represented (for dante) divine love incarnated; she was an
"image" of christ to him and it is she, via the poet virgil, who leads
dante out of hell, through purgatory, and then directly herself,
through heaven to  God. i wonder what the swoon were thinking...
