west palm beach set list, musings, etc.

i was super lonely tonight, but i had fun. so feh to anyone who saw the Lonely
Girl and didn't do a thing.

most of the folks there were cowboy junkies fans, i guess. it seems that
lesbians like that band a whole bunch. if i were a lesbian, i think i would
still like over the rhine. read into that what you will.

i had a really odd seat, third row smashed against the wall. i moved back a
few rows so the speakers wouldn't hurt. i had a lovely view of linford
fingering* his keyboard.

setlist:

a. faithfully dangerous.
b. i didn't know this one? lyrics i caught were "rub it in" and "what are we
waiting for?"
c. seahorse

d. all i need is everything
e. poughkeepsie (yet i wrote "pough-Keepsie)

that's when i started feeling tipsy. which is super odd because the lady
wouldn't sell me any wine.

then karin said "i like to talk to you floridians about your bugs. they're
big." and continued to babble about opening a bug saddle store?

good segue to

f. moth
g. latter days

wow, i don't even remember writing this down. i wrote "why should music leave
me so saucer-eyed?" then i wrote "this would be a good night for kissing
someone"

h. this is not goodbye

(but it was.)

i was totally in the mood to buy stuff, too bad 'cause all they were selling
was _good dog, bad dog_, _darkest night_, and a gdbd t-shirt. oh well, i had
to buy new underwear beforehand, 'cause nothing worked with my dress.

i didn't mind the second part of the show. i took a few more notes.

"wow. terri's job would be neat."
"i wanna be a rock*star. well, not a rock*star, but whatever karin is."
"canadians are so saucy"

lots of the folks around me were sort of sucked in by otr, that made me happy.
except for the dumbasses looking at the cover of _gdogbdog_... "wow, they all
look really different."

what the fuzz?

so that was my evening, a success except for the brutal loneliness and the
witch woman who wouldn't pour me any wine.

i talked to linford and jack for a bit after the show. they seemed dumbfounded
that anyone showed up especially to see them. 'cause they never play in
florida or something. jack is sort of cute, i think. so is the bass player. i
couldn't see the drummer where i was sitting. i liked that cowboy junkie who
played the man-do-lin and tam-bou-rine and various shakey stuff. he was
wearing a suit. this is starting to sound like a bad fourth grade book report,
so i guess i'll go to sleep now. i'm not going to tell you what anyone was
wearing because i really don't care what anyone was wearing. except for those
scary 2-for-1 haunted house people, but that's another story, right?

back to lurkdom,
sha

*do i get extra credit for utilizing a listie vocab word?
