she just starts singing!

okay, so this is a question that i have wanted to pose for years--literally.
i never have because i have never had the time (when i as actually thinking
about it) to go through the cd's and get some info, but now that i have...

i wonder what everyone thinks about the recent trend (apparently) of some over
the rhine songs having no musical introduction, just beginning...
here are the songs per album that just begin with *very* little or no
introduction...

til we have faces:
*cast me away
*paul and virginia
*ubiquitous hands

patience:
*circle of quiet
*rhapsodie

eve:
*happy with myself
*should
*melancholy room
*birds
*june
*falling (death of a tree)

good dog bad dog:
*latter days
*all i need is everything
*faithfully dangerous
*poughkeepsie
*happy to be so

the darkest night of the year (even with all the instrumentals...):
*thank you my angel
*silent night (duet)

besides:
*hej (i do)
*dead weight
*all i need is everything
*miles

hmm... any thoughts? what about the new songs? does anyone remember? i
think goodbye has an introduction. what about the other new ones? has anyone
else noticed this or is it just me?
(just you, jan...) (okay, i just thought i would ask...)
