Re: concerts-a-gogo

i live right outside of nashville, tn so i guess it's safe to say we have
a very active music scene. if you look, there is something going on all
the time. one of my favorite things to do is go to the local smokes &
brews for a writer's night. i've caught some gems this way -- talented
people who may never see the light of day, others who have had industry
types approach after their sets, and those who have more nerve than
talent.

during the summer, there are a couple of inexpensive music series, uptown
mix $5 -- the only place this year fleming and john have played. and
dancin' in the district $3 which featured collective soul on their only
scheduled outing so far this year. also caught arrested developement,
p-funk all-stars, shaggy, and ben folds at these events.

one of my favorite show this year was otr's appearance at the downtown
presbyterian church. the stage was like a frame around them. i also got
an opportunity to meet some of our traveling listees (dan, bruce, and
mark) at this show.

time for bed,
zayne
