Re: Patience...

i think i neally cried reading that, ive always got my mine just about staight away, but my first otr cd (gdbd) i bought it here in oz, it was luch to come across it, i travelled about 400km looking for it, any way after getting it and totally enjoying it, and finding a web page that sold there albums, cant remember who through, but i ordered it on line, and because no one from oz had heard of them, i didnt expect a reply, but i turned up in the mail about 2 months latter, all i can say is that was an early christmas for me, i was so happy i then found otr's web page and ordered just about the rest, then when my car was stolen with all but one cd i ordered the whole collection, and was given linfords two albums as a bonus, ive been familiar with over the rhine for about 18 months to two years, in that time i have all their cd's, however i cant say i have any of there t shirts or posters etc, but im sure it wont be long.

i can now start writing out christmas wish lists, i never new what i wanted for chrissy but now i do!  BIG SMILE

Hi all

In light of my lack of Ohio due to lack of money (I'll be ordering as soon
as my wages are in!), I thought I'd relate another ordering tale.

About 2 years ago I espied OTR's 'Patience' for sale on a mainstream UK
music retailer's website. As I only own a UK debit card, and so can't order
direct from America, I was thrilled at the prospect of getting hold of this
CD.

I placed my order, and waited...

and waited some more...

occasionally checking the order status, which remained at 'ordering from
manufacturer'...

ever the optimist, I eagerly awaited progress, but...

Finally, a year on from placing the order, I got an email informing me that
the CD was no longer available. I just wonder whether anyone else noticed
how appropriate the CD title was!

Incidentally, about the same time I ordered 'The D! arkest Night of the Year'
from a UK import specialist. This went through the same sort of delay -
'ordering from manufacturer'. After a bewildering 18 months, and having
resigned myself to the conclusion that it would likewise be unavailable,
they finally got hold of a copy! That's gotta be the longest wait ever for
an OTR CD - anyone waited longer?

Bizarre mistype #1: In the last paragraph, I typed 'impotr' instead of
'import'
