OK, Top 20 albums roughly in order:
1 | Wilco | Yankee Hotel Foxtrot : golly, this album is great.  it seems 
that acoustic or personal music usually only affects the listener by the 
lyric or melody, since the production palate is so limited.  not so with 
this clever sounding thing – the whole cd has emotion.

2 | Robbie Williams | Escapology : heh heh.  this is great.  maybe not as 
good as “sing when you’re winning” but they’re both like a “best of” 
collection or something, seeing as how each song is so catchy.

3 | Flaming Lips | Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots : poor yoshimi.  quite a 
struggle..  nice alt-pop.

4 | Sigur Ros | ( ) : dan’s right about this.  it’s really nice, delicate.  
just look at the cd art in the mall record store, the contents are as 
pleasing as that.

5 | Beck | Sea Change : even though he sings with marbles in his mouth for a 
good third of the album, it’s great.  i’d read some reviewer say that it 
makes you want to break up just so you can write better songs, and that’s 
pretty accurate.

6 | Readymaid | Images Of The Floating World EP : holy cow, this band is 
great.  banjos, beatbox, french horn; everything alternative rock shouldn’t 
be.  and they’re local!  wahooey!  great songs.

7 | Peter Mulvey | Ten Thousand Mornings + 5AM EP : the rare covers project 
that improves on the originals.

8 | The Devils | Dark Circles : a fun mix of 80s synth and modern beat pop.

9 | Over The Rhine | Cutting Room Floor : if just for spinning and happy and 
free, but the whole thing has great spots.

10 | eels | Souljacker : tough for e to do too much wrong, although a lot of 
their stuff sounds similar album to album.  but hey, as long as he keeps 
writing great songs, i’ll buy ‘em.

11 | Eminem | The Eminem Show : if ya let it sink in, it’s brilliant.

12 | Neko Case | Blacklisted : quiet, haven’t listened to it enough yet.

13 | Weezer | Malaldroit : better than the stinkin’ green album by far.

14 | Beth Orton | Daybreaker : half is a great album, half is boring.  to me 
at least.

15 | And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of The Dead  | Sources And
Tagcodes : what a weird band name.  loud.  quiet.

16 | Spacemonkeys vs. Gorillaz | Laika Come Home : i thought this cd was 
dumb for a long time, but now it’s a driving staple.

17 | Moth | Provisions, Fiction, And Gear : loud, great job.  too bad the 
rest of the world didn’t give it a chance yet.

18 | Enon | High Society : the most brit-pop album from ohio yet.  wahooey!

19 | Readymaid | The View Should Never Change : see above.  and see them 
live!!

20 | Superdrag | Last Call For Vitriol : when are these guys gonna be more 
famous??
