Clear (Channel) Irony

I was listening to WXPN the other day when they
did one of the classic non-commercial radio
"commercial" spots.

"Clear Channel supports WXPN ..." the announcer
said, and I nearly choked. The "ad" then went on
to list some concerts in the Philly area that
Clear Channel is promoting.

The irony of hearing this ad on a flagship
non-commercial AAA radio station is huge,
considering Clear Channe's dominance of
commercial radio and how much it sucks. But when
it comes down to it, cash speaks -- even for
places like WXPN.
