copying from VHS to mpeg

anybody know how to do that?

i want to preserve some of my old out-of-print videos to a format that
wil last longer and that i'll probably actually watch... specifically
some of my old Steve Taylor, Atomic Opera, Extreme, King's X videos,
etc...

anybody know an easy way to sample a VHS into a PC into mpeg?
