RE: Is Soccer a Sport?!?!?!?

Thanks, Mark for starting this sports thread. It wasn't me for once. I
will agree with the slowness of baseball, but that is also the intrinsic
beauty of the sport.

My friends and I have often debated who the best conditioned athletes are in
professional sports and this is the list that I believe to be correct.

1) Hockey -- These guys sprint on skates for 30-40 minutes a night and don't
have to many off days. They do have shifts during the game, but I've never
seen an obese hockey player.

2) Professional Cycling -- These guys like Greg Lemond, and Lance Armstrong
are amazing. The only reason why they are not #1 in my book is because of
the sport itself. It is a sport, but not one of the major sports in my
opinion.

3) Soccer -- Again, I have never seen an obese soccer player.

Okay that is all for now. Within each sport there are athletes who are
better conditioned than these 3 sports I am sure, but as a whole this is the
conclusion that I have come to.

Out here,
Barry
