More on Alice

<<
I agree that there have been some things that have raised an eyebrow or two
but he and his web-site have always denied that a conversion happened. The
questions were always tossed aside saying it's all an act.

Where on the his web-site does he say this? I can't seem to find anything
there about it. Sure it was 'his' site? I know some fan sites don't like the
thought of it and sloff it off. I remember back around Last Temptation myself
that a couple underground zines had brief interviews with him saying that it
was true. Also, currently there is a fairly long and candid interview with
him about his Christianity in Heaven's Metal. He talks about attending
church with his wife in 89-90 and constantly getting convicted, not wanting
to go back but finding himself there anyway. He talks of becoming a
Christian, inititially out of fear, then as his understanding grew, coming to
love Christ and growing as a Christian and wanting, when he dies, for Christ
to say "he's one of Mine".

He also helped found and helps run a charity organization in Arizona called
Solid Rock Foundation which is a *Christian* organization that provides help
to troubled teens and children. It's biggest fundraiser is a celebrity golf
tournament that Alice participates in every year.

a couple quotes round the end of the interview:
"so for all of you who don't know who I am, listen to the last three albums,
listen to the lyrics, and give me a break"

"I was one thing at one time, and now I'm something new. I'm a new creature
now. Don't judge Alice by what he used to be. Praise God for what I am now."

If it's an act he's one hell of an actor.

(David, that surely must have been one heck of a surprise setting next to
Alice in Sunday School!)
