*long ramble alert*

After d/l'ing all 10 songs on the mp3 attic and falling in love, the
guy who gave me the URL in the first place was going to make a mixed
cd for me. Then they had a link on their website to a radio
interview Linford did and they played Faithfully Dangerous and Latter
Days during the interview. That was it. My first order from
overtherhine.com. Obviously it was GDBD (backporch) I wanted but
thought, "with all these cd's they've made I should at least get two,
I doubt theres a way to go wrong w/ this" So I decided on their
first cd as well. GDBD floored me and playing TWHF for the first
time really tripped me out because if it were not for Karin's voice
I'd have thought I was listenting to two different bands. But boy
did I like it. I told my friend I had ordered them and he made a
comment close too, "well, scratch songs from those cd's off the mixed
one". Next thing I know they had a 'buy 3 get 2 free' monthly
special and I went bonkers. Within 4 months of hearing OtR for the
first time I had all their cd's 'cept for GDBD-home recordings. So
much for my friend having to burn a cd of mixed songs, ha! And
then... (yes, it gets better) a friend from high school came back
here for a visit and I start blah blah'ing about OtR and wound up
just giving her ASR cause its what was in my car at the time. "here,
just take this, its yours now. i'll get another one, trust me". I
knew the buy 3 get 2 free deal was still on so I re-ordered ASW,
GDBD-home recordings, Linfords first solo cd and then took 2
GDBD-home recordings as my free ones for giving away. One I sent to
my cousin in Kentucky, just over the bridge from Cincinnati, who'd
never heard of them. And the other I mailed just last week to a
friend in UK who can't get enough of their mp3 attic I sent him off
to check out a couple months ago. Funny how it works. One went
right next door, the other across the ocean. Mixed cd's of OtR I've
made have gone to CO, CA & NC. I'd make a lot more but the burner is
on the work computer and nothing gets made unless no other programs
are running and my desk is cleared. I really should invest in a
burner for home though. I have about a years worth, maybe more, of
OtR mp3 rarity's that I would love to get on cd. I coulda busted ass
on that Ann Arbor tree too. Anyway, sorry, warned ya at the
beginning I'd be yacking away.

michelle :)
