see, i rented it over a year ago as "Obre los Ojos (Open Your Eyes)"
and really dug it. it was less than 3 months ago that i read up on
Vanilla Sky to find out it was the Crowe/Cruise version of the same
movie. needless to say i've been looking forward to it since. i
wasn't let down plot-wise, but i will say that i find the addition of
the, A-list hollywood actors to the movie disapointing. i didn't
'not' like it, it was pretty much an exact american re-inactment of
the original, and i like the original version much better. the
bummer for me of knowing the deal of the flick was that i
couldn't/can't have a blank opinion. i've been sitting here tonight
since i got home thinking about it and saying, "...wonder what i
woulda thought of it if i hadn't seen the original version to compare
it too..". and i'll never know, 'tis the way it goes though.
