a favourite lostie and i were just discussing movies.    i wanna know what
movie theatre to go to where people "{sit}  quietly in the dark".      here
i am,  trying to hear the movie  (which shouldn't be that hard,  since they
play the thing at Buddy and Julie Miller dB levels,  but you get acclimated,
i guess)  and i hear everyone talking,  or giggling,  or carrying on
whatever conversation they were engrossed in ~before~  the doors opened.
then there's the paper boxes of candy ripping,   the last droplets of their
diet cokes  getting sucked through the straw   (repeatedly.....as the ice
melts they might get another few  cc's of water if they suck hard enough and
trawl the straw around the bottom of the cup long enough).      "sshhhhh"
doesn't work anymore,  you just get a glare  like  "you're the cretin here!"
and  "shut the fu*k up!"  is reserved for only the worst offenders,
(though it is effective,  after a one line retort.)

M  (not opposed to vindictive spitting)   used to spit at the noisy people
at concerts and movies,   or throw popcorn in their hair.   but now that
we're older and wiser,  she has stopped that practice.   i must say i miss
that mean streak.




oh,  i'm  sorry,  was this about dating?
