GOd I'm stupid...

Not only did I send this to matthew instead of to the list, but I called him
Tim!! My apologiies to all...

My favourite 'ex-gay' story is the one about the two prominent leaders of
one of the American ex-gay ministries who were on a preaching tour and, due
to a gigantic cock-up on the sleeping arrangements front, suddenly found
themselves one night sharing a king-sized bed together....

Next morning they were courageous enough too own up to the fact that they
had been secretly in love with each other for years. They are now pastors
in the Metropolitan Community Church.

BArely a month goes by without some senior ex-gay leader being caught in a
gay bar, or cottaging somewhere...

Here in Brtian, one of the leading ex-gay ministries hass recently announced
that its policy of 'curing' homosexuals has been mistaken and damaging.

All over the show, the ex-gay movement is being discredited, shamed by its
leaders, and in the case of a few honourable exceptions like Jermy Marks of
COurage, openly repenting of their former position. When will you?

As for the church allowing gay marriages, there is evidence that in the
early church, same sex relationships where tolerated - even honoured by the
church. It is only with the failure of the crucades that a scapegaot
becomes necessary and persecution of jews, muslims, gays and heretics rises
to an all time high.

Indeed, in the secular world, acceptances of lesbians, gays and bisexuals
has only come within the past 30 years... and we all know how bad the
church is at lagging behind.

Prejudice (homophobia) is one thing, but I think your arguments might be
more convincing if they were actually in touch with reality to any great
degree.

wherever I go people serve tea"
