I'll second that.  I gave up reading the _Star Wars_ novels shortly after
it became clear that Anderson was being given too much sway over the
direction of that franchise.  I felt so, so sorry for _X-Files_ fans when
I saw that the first _X-Files_ novel was written by Anderson.
