cover horror
the "radio hit" version of the song you're thinking of is by jeffrey gaines,
off his new record. i don't know much about him, other than that he's been
covering that song for like, 7-8 years now and milking it for all it's
worth. back in like, 1995 there was a live acoustic version of him covering
"in your eyes" that floated around AAA stations. it was unavailable, then it
was on his next record....*now* i'm guessing this new one is a studio cut? i
saw his new record in a store, and it said "featuring 'in your eyes'"...this
guy really seems to be milking that cover.
however, it's covered by many people...especially christian artists. i've
seen plumb do it in concert a few times, then there was an awful ccm version
by some girl (don't remember her name)...i've covered it, but that doesn't
count when you're a 19 year old in a jersey shore coffee house. besides, i'm
not 19 anymore and i've stopped. ;)
