Taking things off list= segregation= counter-productive historically. It is
not rude to be off-topic when "a truce is tacitly observed", wwhich is what
I thought we all had here. A truce...the U.N. of mailing lists.

so...

No No NO! You do not want to limit this discussion on this list. The list
is alive, it is oozing with vitality. Let's keep it that way. If you have
to hit delete, then so be it. Did you see the classic episode of "the
Jetsons" where Jane came down with "buttonitis" from doing to much
housework? Her finger was a throbbing, crumpled wreck. Anyway, I doubt
hitting <delete> could give you or anyone else such a condition.

I also doubt that a secularized individual could come on to this list and
unknowingly assimilate Christian ideas, until he or she is ultimately led to
the Lord. However, it could happen, and is much more likely than you or
anyone else getting "buttonitis" from pressing <delete> too often. Are you
willing to deny the world, or even that one hypothetical individual, a
chance to know the peace Christ brings just so you aren't inconvenienced?

Righteous judgment time: you need to redress your Christian walk *IF* that
is the case.

What the world needs now is more open and public discussion of spirituality
(not just Christian) and not less. I'd think someone in the business of
"Christian" music would understand that. This list may not be a ministry,
but God works in mysterious ways, using any and every tool at his disposal.

Finally, that's what subject headings are for. We could adopt a system like
on the Midnight Oil list- NOTRC= "No Over the Rhine content". Also, those
who accidentally delete messages they may have wanted to read later should
subscribe to both the digest AND the list. Yeah, it means using <delete>
more often, but it also preserves the diversity of the rich tapestry these
sundry threads are weaving.

Remember, when ever any large and diverse group of people gather together
there is bound to be some discussion at some point that not all parties are
interested in/can relate to. It is an immutable truth of life.

Peace to all you beautiful musical people,

Matt

PS- why can you sell your records here- 'cause OtR is on one...should Brad
C. cease 'cause they aren't?
