My favorite moments on this list:
The 2 day haiku exchange.
Realizing that maybe everyone is right about Kyle.
When Fred shares his infinite wisdom (this is often).
When Ysoie makes a funny (this is often).
When J. Marie says something sweet (this is often).
When Rhys talks about her grandfather (that image made
me smile).
When Jennifer came to Louisville (Okay, that was off
the list, but it's list related).
When someone recommended the film "City of Lost
Children" - eternally grateful for that one.
When I have opportunity to share my heart or what's on
my mind and feel like people are actually listening
(that doesn't happen a lot in real life).
My least favorite moments on this list:
Any of those all to frequent times when people speak
as if Linford and Karin are the second coming of
Christ who have come to save our poor mortal souls
that would be dry and barren without them. Sometimes
this seems less like an OtR fan list and more like a
hero worship site. I'm just amazed at some of the
stuff I read here. I LOVE Over the Rhine. Their music
entertains and moves me. The combination of Linford's
lyrics and Karin's voice may never be matched. They
are the best and they are real. HOWEVER, no one
(other than family, close friends and God) has the
power to change my life in the way I see it suggested
here on an almost daily basis. Sometimes I feel like
I'm in the midst of an elite band of gnostics whose
life is now complete because of the secret little
epiphany we've all experienced.
Or maybe I'm just cynical or don't get it...
