Three Things

1. Has anyone heard anything about Sarah Harmer, or her album, "You Were
Here"? Another music list I'm on, the people have been raving about that CD
and I've been seeing her name lately a lot.

2. I forgot to mention Robbie Williams' "Sing When You're Winning" CD as one
of my best-of from 2000. It's awesome pop, that guy is fun.

3. I randomly bought some compilation CDs the other day 'cos they looked
like good mixes, nice art, etc. One of them is called "Hear Music Volume 2"
put out by Rhino Special Products I think. Anyway, last night I had put it
in a CD changer where we were playing cards and an hour later out pops "All
I Need is Everything". OtR are the last song on the disc, alongside great
tracks by David Gray, Emmylou Harris, Billy Bragg/Wilco, Bruce Cockburn,
Lyle Lovett, Morcheeba, etc. Very interesting mix. The Hear Music people
liken their CD compilations as "a mix tape from a friend". Their website
www.hearmusic.com has the same note about OtR as the disc booklet does:

"Over the Rhine's strikingly beautiful music and words of impact, soar
through the revved up acousticism of "All I Need is Everything." There's
instrumental sadness beneath, equally affecting and anthemic, showcased by
exultant vocals and folk rock influences. Good Dog Bad Dog is full of the
stories of a torchsong chanteuse who sings through the angst, all the way to
the end of a heartbreak."

Check out the CD if you get a chance. It was released in 2000.
