Chris Donahue

Chris Donahue mostly played a very large upright
bass at Canal Street tonight. Linford said that when you
are choosing new band members choose people that you like
to listen to. This sounds like Chris is the new bass
player. He has a sensitivity to the Over the Rhine songs
that he plays. He melds well with the improvisation
parts of songs with Linford and Jack. On some songs he
played a bass guitar. He has black glasses, a recently
shaved head with a very thin mustache and goatee. He
wore a dark t-shirt with a Celtic cross necklace. They
said they would tour a couple of weeks, finish recording,
then do some Christmas shows.

This is the printed set list. The order of the
songs might be a little different. Latter Days was the
last song.

Maurice Mattei opened. He is getting married
tomorrow so if you see the Saturday show you will see
Maurice on his wedding night. His strength is his lyrics
which could stand alone as poetry. He plays solo with
acoustic guitar.
