any MSN.com users out there?

does anybody out there use MSN.com for their internet 
connection?  is it any good?  good connections?  can
you read newsgroups from MSN?

i need to switch from my local-based ISP to a national 
one (i'm most likely moving before winter), and i am 
looking for one that is good.  i know that MSN used 
Hotmail.  that kinda sucks (compared to POP).  is there
any way to download email from MSN (or Hotmail) other 
than on the Web?  like into Eudora or MSOutlook?

but other than that, the main question is what is your
overall impression of MSN?
