Roaring Lambs

just got it yesterday shipped from CDNow... finally popped it in today.

on first listen, i like it. JoC's "headstrong" is good- sounds like most
of their other stuff, but good nonetheless. the ashley cleveland/michael
tait song has some good vocals- i've always liked tait's vocal stuff... he
needs to put out a solo album, as does kevin max smith (not to be confused
with the filmster kevin smith). the canticles of the plains cd that
michael tait, kevin max smith, leigh nash, and mitch mcvickers did was good...

i don't know how i feel about the steve taylor tune. the lyrics remind me
of the cheese like "bannerman," which i normally skip when i'm listening to
_squint_. i *am* happy that he's actually been back in the studio, though.
he needs a new cd, it's only been 7 years, or so...

i only briefly touched on the pfr and burlap to cashmere tunes- but they
sounded good from what i heard so far.

then, the *real* reason to get the cd is for the last three tunes... :)
OtR's "goodbye." ah, it's good to finally have this on cd. i love it.
it's good to see that it was Bruce & Drew's "Smack it Up Cincinnati"
setlist this past Wednesday... bill mallonee and vigilantes cover of a
bruce cockburn tune is good. i hadn't ever heard the original, but i like
their cover. the sixpence tune is also good... funky hair for leigh, btw.

i skipped some of the other tunes of other people for now (like
scc/mws...ugh). maybe later...
